The Kuaotunu Kindergarten Playgroup gives parents and caregivers with young children (birth to Kindergarten age) the opportunity to meet with the playgroup leader for a relaxed morning and to socialise.

The Playgroup is based on Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy with natural, plain toys and a rhythm of free-play, morning circle followed by morning tea and outside play.

Kuaotunu Community Gardens
Kuaotunu Community Gardens

Here in Kuaotunu, we have a thriving Food Forest bursting with fruit, herbs and vegetables for locals and visitors to enjoy.

The community gardens were established 5 years ago by a group of enthusiastic and knowledgeable locals who believed that growing food was essential for our community to learn about sustainable food production and natural local resource conservation, and to encourage social engagement and deepen connections through gardening practices such as soil preparation, planting, weeding and watering.

If you would like to join in maintaining this special part of our community, please join local volunteers on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm, or if you would like to donate to our plant fund, please contribute at the local Waitaia nursery.
